Laser tag FAQ
Laser Tag is a safe tactical team game in which players hit opponents with IR pulses using taggers. The hits are detected by special sensors on headbands or vests.
1. Find a Laser Tag Club and sign up for the game;
2. Come to the game and get laser tag equipment;
3. Practice shooting with the instructor before the game;
4. Listen to the game briefing;
5. Play with friends and try to win;
6. Tell everyone that laser tag is cool.
No special training is required to play laser tag. When you come to play for the first time, an instructor will tell you about the rules of the game. You just need to come in a good mood and enjoy the game.
As for tactical actions, we advise you to follow the basic rules that may not lead you to victory, but will definitely save you from being “dead” in the first minutes of the fight.
1. Check the fire field. While there is no enemy, assess the situation and remove everything that prevents you from aiming comfortably: the stones under your feet, the branches clinging to the barrel are unlikely to help you hit the opponent with precision.
2. Do not forget about the enemy’s defeat sensors on the headband. Do we need to explain where to shoot first? It is necessary to observe not only the enemy, but also for your own actions: keep your head down, look around quickly, hide just as quickly, try not to be an easy prey for a sniper.
3. Charge the gun in time and keep track of the number of cartridges. If you are alone with the enemy, it’s a shame to lose the battle because of the lack of ammunition in the tagger.
4. Constantly moving. Change the locations, calculate the course of events. Short runs of hide and seek will bring a lot of trouble to your enemy. Remember the golden rule: run slowly – die quickly.
5. Communicate and interact with your teammates. Victory is at stake, so signal to your allies the location of the enemy, his movements and discuss further actions with the chief officer.
$10-30 is a standard price per hour playing outdoor laser tag for one person. This price may vary depending on whether you need to rent equipment or have your own tagger.
The minimum game in a laser tag club lasts 15 minutes. But often there can be big games for up to 3 days.
The minimum number of people who want to play Laser Tag is 2. But usually teams of five or six people meet. If you don’t have a team, don’t fret. Laser tag clubs have “open games”. You can come to these games alone, the team gathers from the people who came to the game.
The optimal age for acquaintance with laser tag is 6 years. There are practically no age restrictions for playing laser tag. We have developed a whole range of taggers for young players. Therefore, adults and children can play against each other on the same playground.

Laser Tag is a family game. Laser tag is a game for all ages. It doesn’t matter how old you are. On the playground, the player’s victory does not depend on age. In this game, only those who have mastered a team game win. Just a fair fight.
Choose clothes or military uniform that you are not afraid to be dirty for laser tag. It should be made of thick material, and you should feel comfortable while playing. It is recommended to use combat shoes or hiking boots as shoes.
The color of clothes for the laser tag is selected depending on the season. In order not to disguise ourselves, we recommend wearing military camouflage for the laser tag game. For winter games in rough terrain, white camouflage cloaks are suitable.
It is recommended that girls come to the laser tag game with thick and loose dresses: this will facilitate the game process. Choose clothes that you are not afraid of being dirty. It is recommended to wear durable sneakers that are comfortable to play.
As a game weapon, Laser Tag uses a tagger that emits infrared pulses. Infrared pulses are detected by the Hit sensors on the headband or vest. In addition, other playground equipment can be used in the games: checkpoints, digital flags, mines and first-aid kits.
Outdoor laser tag equipment works on the basis of an infrared pulse. The player, by pressing the trigger, hits the opponent with a safe and invisible infrared ray. A hit is detected by special sensors that are attached to the player’s headband or to a special vest.
Game points are counted using modern Wi-Fi technologies. The statistics of the gaming devices are transmitted online to the router and from there to a PC. After the game, you can create a PDF document with statistics and upload it to Facebook.
Laser tag vests are equipped with special hit sensors that detect incoming shots. When the vest receives a hit, it vibrates, the sensors shine brightly, and the vest beeps. All game hits are processed by electronics. There is no harm to the player’s health.

LASERWAR outdoor equipment does not use a laser. We use a safe and invisible infrared technology. Our technology has been tested for years and by thousands of clubs around the world.
LASERWAR devices do not use laser markings. We use safe LED lighting to indicate the shot, which can not hurt your eyes. Our optical system is certified and complies with international safety standards.
In the early 1960s, pulse simulators were developed for training purposes for tactical and fire training of US military units. In 1973, the laser system of shooting training (based on AKM) was developed by the institutions of the USSR military-industrial complex for the training of soldiers of the USSR Armed Forces (in November of the same year, the corresponding information about it appeared in the international press). The history of the commercial idea of laser tag operation began in 1977, when George Carter III (Mark Twain III), an American citizen, saw the movie “Star Wars” and invented the game “Photon”. It was his idea that formed the basis of all current commercial lase-tag projects, both in terms of style and concept of the game. A modern laser tag is a high-tech game that absorbed the experience and achievements of previous generations. At the moment there are several manufacturers of laser tag devices,
Tactical or sports laser tag-a new discipline that is just beginning to develop. Laser tag tournaments on the playground with inflatable figures are currently held in Russia. A special system is created for these games: participants play on a specially designed playground with certified equipment. As a rule, such tournaments are played by well-coordinated groups of players who know how to work in a team.
According to the national legislation, lasertag devices do not have to undergo the certification procedure. Despite this fact, LLC Lasertag voluntarily certifies the manufactured devices every year. In addition, our company is the only one that provides expertise in accordance with the current unified sanitary epidemiological and hygienic requirements. We were the first to conduct a study of laser tag prism optics and its certification in Russia. We proved absolute safety of infrared pulse (“shot” in laser tag). Our optical systems are completely eye-friendly: according to the GOST certification system, they belong to the “No Harm” group. You can download the certificates and get acquainted with them here.
The most important thing to understand is that the shot lighting is not an IR pulse. That’s why you can not adjust the fire of your gun with the help of firing lighting. Illumination is carried out by 8 LEDs, which are mounted at the same distance from the center of the printed circuit board. An IR LED is located directly in the center. It is known that infrared radiation is not visible to the human eye. That is why LASERWAR specialists solved the problem of IR LED visibility with the help of LEDs. When you shoot at a target, you will see a bright cross — your IR LED radiates directly in the center. It let laser tag beginners know how to aim and where to shoot. It will help you quickly adapt to a new game. The correct setting of fire is still done by hitting a special target or a defeat sensor at a distance of 50 m, but a sight should not be set according to the firing illumination. Setting a gun with
In standard optical tube defeat range of “infrared bullet” is 50cm to 50 meters distance. During the day, the sensors are less sensitive. As a result, the area is reduced to 30-40 cm. If the infrared sensors are shaded, they can pick up an infrared beam within a radius of 0.5 m. Therefore, we should consider the 50 cm area as a relative factor. It should be emphasized that the company LASERWAS been developing optical systems for a long time and finally managed to do it. Shooting with laser tag weapons is easy for a professional, but not for beginners. Over the past two years, we have received a lot of positive feedback on optical systems from our customers (both dealers and professionals).LASERWAR optical tubes have become a standard in the laser tag industry in terms of launch area and firing accuracy or size and weight. Every year the company tests shooting range and validate the test results. Our company produces several types of optical tubes, which differ in parameters and depend on a certain group. However, we are not resting on our laurels, but are constantly improving our optics system construction. In 2015, Advanced Prism Optics was produced. Due to the increased accuracy and firing range, it becomes the most competitive in the laser tag market.
The ultimate firing range of our laser tag equipment can reach 610m during the day. Headband sensors detect infrared signal change. We use TSOP34856 photo sensors. These photodetectors are characterized by high sensitivity, so they are well suited for laser tag games. They automatically distinguish between IR-emitting and sunlight. The more infrared sensors are exposed to the sun’s rays, the worse they detect infrared signals. Consequently, the effective firing range decreases. This is the reason that the shooting range is higher in the shade than in the sunlight.
The sensors on the headband vibrate. A weapons spokesman says: “I am injured”. You can not shoot for a short time. You will get a triple effect through the three senses: sense of touch (vibration), sense of sight (LED display) and sense of hearing (sound).
According to the outdoor laser tag rules, it is forbidden to cover the sensors, because when a sensor is closed by one hand, it cannot detect an infrared signal. But one headband has 4 sensors – it is impossible to cover all of them at once. Infrared rays are worse detected by the sensors when bushes or vegetation interfere. Nevertheless, it is easy to defeat a player standing behind the bush if he is near the shooter due to the rounded shape of the defeat area.
Click here for a detailed review of Smart RGB headband. In short, we completely modified the device and made it really “smart”. An intelligent RGB headband is characterized by background annealing technology and multi-zonal approach. Particular attention is paid to the ergonomics and weight of the headband. It is comfortably worn and weighs only 220 g. We used new two-layer belts that perfectly absorb moisture and protect electronics from moisture. The autonomous operation of the headband is 48 hours. A lithium-ion battery of 1.8 Ah can be powered from any Li+ Charger series power supply. LEDs used in this device are more powerful than those in the previous version. Each sensor is equipped with two photodetectors. They prevent the emergence of the dead ligaments, which are inaccessible for defeating.
A standard delivery set includes a laser tag weapon. Chargers, headbands or vests can be purchased separately. We recommend to buy a charger for two play sets. A weapon is equipped with sights (a foresight and a consideration). Collimator and telescopic sights should be selected in accordance with the category of weapons. When you receive your order, we strongly recommend checking the set according to the gun passport.
Frost. Electronics will not be damaged by frost, but one should follow simple rules: the battery is discharged twice as fast at low temperatures. The electronics will not be out of order even at 25-30 degrees below zero. Storage of the device at low temperatures (below zero) is prohibited. Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations in winter. You do not need to turn off the rifles and headbands during breaks in the game. If you turn off the device, you will save very little battery charge.
In addition, the device begins to cool down and condensate appears. Due to the special protective film covering all electronic boards, the weapons are protected from a short circuit. But all in all: the less the device is turned off / on, the longer electronic components will work. Snow. Electronics are not damaged by snow, but it should be borne in mind: snow gets into numerous slots of a weapon body (rifle systems, optics tubes), which can make such manipulations as shooting, reloading, turning off / on and others unstable. Snow is not as harmful as water, which appears after the snow melts.
Therefore, after the end of the game, carry your weapon to a warm room and let it dry for a few hours before starting to charge. Rain. Moisture is harmful to any electronics. We recommend not to play during the rain, although all electronic boards and sensors on both sides have disappeared. More detailed instructions on how to use the devices can be found there.
Yes, it can. Many laser tag clubs do this in the winter. Due to the excellent settings of the signal power, there are no ricochets in any room during the game. You can set up your devices with a PRO remote control or a Bluetooth module. LASERWAR Company released new indoor laser tag devices-CYBERTAG in 2015. If you are ready to organize indoor games (for example, in shopping centers), you can familiarize yourself with our offer on the site.

As usual, 10-12 game sets are enough to start a business. The proceeds will be used to purchase additional equipment. Here one should observe the rule: the more money is invested, the more average the bill is. The best choice is to start 16-20 game sets. In this case, the average payback period is about 6-8 months. But still there are laser tag clubs that were able to make a net profit after three months of work.
